Abel passed away peacefully the morning of March 24th, at the age 74 after a gradual decline on health. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family and caregivers during the last days of his life. Abel was born in Deming, NM then settled in Albuquerque, NM to raise his family.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve "Churchie" Abeyta; son Theodore "Bobby" Sena; daughter, Carol Bruner; parents, Sisto and Josephine Abeyta and brother, Sisto Abeyta Jr.
He is survived by his children, Judy Martinez (Gerald), Tammy Jaramillo (Brent), Cindy Molina (Roy), Genevieve Abeyta (Kenny), Abel Abeyta (Rebecca); 27 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren.
Abie was the strongest soul we have ever known. He has fought the toughest battles and never gave up. God just needed him more than us. Your smile, good heart and loving ways, along with your goofiness, stubbornness and all that you were, you will be greatly missed
AVisitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 on Monday March 27, 2017 at Garcia Mortuary's Chapel of Angels on the corner of 8th and Iron followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm. A Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday March 28, 2017 10:00 am at Holy Family Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW with Interment to follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Gerald Martinez, Vidal Martinez, Jesse Armijo, Kenny Abeyta, Robert Abeyta, Ernest "EJ" Sena. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Tommy Tapia, Bobby Abeyta, Abel L.
