Romero, Annabell "Fossie"

Age 89 passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Esther Montano; parents, Ambrosio and Dora Griego and husband, Alex Romero Jr.

Annabell is survived by her children, Cynthia Schade, Darlene Romero and husband, Gianni and Marlene Romero. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Diana Mestas and husband, Mike, Dustin Schade, Montana Romero and fiancé, Jason Lucero. She is further survived by three great-grandchildren, Aubri Romero, Miles Mestas, Millie Mestas as well as her brother Eddie Garcia and wife, Elina, and her godson, Joseph "E.J." Garcia.

A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, she spent her later years between New Mexico, Colorado, North Carolina and Virginia visiting her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, was an active member of two book clubs, a member of the Women’s Auxiliary Club of Our Lady of Angles Catholic Church of Virginia and was a lifelong parishioner of St. Francis Xavier’s Catholic Church of Albuquerque where she was a member of the Guadalupanos. She enjoyed socializing at the Barelas Senior Center, being a ‘Grandma’ to the students of Eugene Field Elementary School, her weekly beauty appointments and she always looked forward to Tuesday bingo. She is loved and will be missed by many.

A Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 pm with a rosary to be recited on at 7:00pm on Tuesday January 28, 2020 at Garcia Mortuary~Chapel of Angels, on the corner of 8th and Iron in Albuquerque. A final viewing will take place from 7:30-8:00 am on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 with a Mass to be celebrated at 8:00 am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 820 Broadway Blvd. SE. Pallbearers will be Eddie Garcia, Dustin Schade, Mike Mestas, Jason Lucero, Robert Lucero, Louie Sanchez, and Brian Sanchez. An internment will be held later in the year.
