Barbara Dorotea Centeno

December 4, 1925 — February 1, 2025

Barbara Dorotea Centeno, born in Tucumcari, New Mexico on December 4, 1925, went to live in the house of the Lord on February 1, 2025. She was 99 years old. 

She lived all of her adult life in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she was greatly loved by so many family members, friends, and by the community for all her volunteer work and service. 

Barbara married Celestino P. Centeno and had four children. She was a homemaker and always thinking of and caring for others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Doroteo and Elena Laredo, her sisters, Evira, Consuelo, Maria, Helen, and Natalie, her brothers, Fernando, Federico, William (Mickey), and Ricardo. She was also preceded in death by her son Peter M. Centeno, stepdaughter Sylvia Green, and great grandson Anson Listy. 

Barbara is survived by her sister, Esperanza (Hope) Bruno and sister-in-law Mary Jo Laredo, two sons Cicero Centeno and wife Eva, Celestino Centino II, and a daughter Anna Marie Centeno Listy and husband Anthony (Tony). She had ten grandchildren: Michael, Shawn, and Javier Centeno, Elicia Blauw (Sjouke), Mario, Marques, Martin, Marek, Marcel, and Marissa Listy. Seven great grandchildren Elizabeth (Nick), and Erica Centeno, Elioke and Yushin Blauw, Aaliyah, Abram, and Daisy Listy. And three great great grandchildren, Aiden, Audi, and Eli Centeno. 

Services for Barbara will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, located at 5901 St Joseph's Drive, NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87120, with a rosary at 8:15 am and Mass of a Christian Burial to follow at 9:00 am.

 A brunch reception to honor Barbara's life will be held following mass at the Ladera Golf Course Clubhouse, located at 3401 Ladera Drive NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87120 at 10:30 am. 

Burial will commence at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on February 24, 2025, at 2:30 pm. The Santa Fe National Cemetery is located at 501 N Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87501.
