Carlos Gonzales, 69, passed away December 28, 2016 at his home in Tennille, GA. Carlos was a faithful worker at Norfolk Southern RR for over 35 years. He also served in the US Army and was in the Vietnam War.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Gonzales and Bonifacia Lueras; sister, Stella Gonzales; brothers, Rosendo Gonzales, John Gonzales, Jack Gonzales, and David Gonzales.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Sheila Gonzales; his daughters, Eileen Carter (Jimmy), and Tina Matters; granddaughters, Chelsea, Kendell, Caitlin, and Isabel; sisters, Helen Gonzales and Roberta Jefferies; many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Garcia Mortuary ~ Chapel of Angels, on the corner of 8th and Iron. A Committal Service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 10:30 am at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Affinis of Augusta and to Dr. Beall, Susan, Heidi, Lee, Blane, and Race.
