Otero, Carmen Ernest
Age 79, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021. He was born in Manzano, NM on July 16, 1941. Carmen graduated from Albuquerque High class of 1959, he took third in state in tennis. He joined the US Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. He graduated from Eastern University with a degree in accounting He won NAIA small college championship twice and won numerous championship tournaments. He was proud of all his trophies. He worked for and retired from the county of Bernalillo and enjoyed his retirement and still enjoyed tennis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eduardo and Amalia Otero; sister, Margaret Otero; aunts, Clara and Rose Candelaria.
Carmen is survived by his girlfriend, Margaret Hochstatter; siblings, Angie Medina, Edward Otero, Dorothy Montano, Liz Otero and a close cousin, Julian Romero.
A Rosary will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021 at 9:00 am with a Mass to follow at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 309 Stover Ave. SW. Interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45pm. To view information or leave a condolence please visit www.danielsfuneral.com
