86 of age, passed on Monday, September 20, 2021 in her home. Carmen was born on October 30, 1934 in Albuquerque, NM to the late Ramon Ortega and Lucinda Jaramillo.  Carmen married the late Benjamin Sandoval on October 25, 1952.
She is survived by her son, David Sandoval; daughter, Jo Ann Griego; grandchildren, Venessa L. Griego, Domingo J. Griego, Julian N. Griego, Monica F. Griego; great grandchildren, Andrew C. Montoya, Benjamin T. Montoya, Cailey F. Griego, Elijah B. Griego and Oliver T. Griego.
Carmen was a devoted housewife most of her life but found herself working for APS in the cafeteria and cleaning the Albuquerque Journal building later in life. What mattered the most to her was her family. She was a caring, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 5:00-6:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm at Strong Thorne Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. A Mass will be celebrated on  Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 9:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church 562 Atrisco Dr SW. Interment to follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery.
