Garcia, Daniel H.
Age 92, a lifelong resident of Carnuel NM, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. Daniel was employed at Kirtland AFB and retired after 32 years of service. He served in the Army and was a WWII Veteran. He was awarded two purple hearts, Combat Infantryman Badge, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three bronze stars. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, camping, fishing and traveling.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Antonio and Jacobita Garcia; brothers, Servando and Albino Garcia; sisters, Delluina (Della) and Beba Garcia.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 69 1/2 years, Dora Garcia; seven children, Ruben Garcia, Joe Fred Garcia and wife, Kathy, Gloria Gallegos and husband Gary Michael, Barbara Pohl and husband, Henry, Lawrence Garcia and wife, Jennifer Loretta, Marty Garcia, Rosella (Rose) Garcia; brother, George Garcia and wife, Ramona; sisters, Cecilia Herrera, Ernestina Duboisterre and husband, Max; sisters in law, Isabel Garcia and Mela Garcia;10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Child in Tijeras, NM A Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Child in Tijeras, NM. Interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Pallbearers will be Danny Gallegos, Juan Pohl, Joseph Pohl, Brandon Garcia, Lorenzo Garcia and Harry Griego.
