Dorothy Trujillo, age 75, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend was called to her eternal resting place on April 8,2023 with family by her side. Dorothy was born on October 24,1947. She was a resident of Albuquerque NM, grew up in the Barelas area and raised her family in the South Valley. Dorothy retired from Albuquerque Public schools where she touched many children’s lives and made lifelong friends with many.
Dorothy loved California and the beauty of the ocean and sky. She always talked about time spent on Santa Monica Pier, where she always felt at peace.
Dorothy loved her family more than anything. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was their biggest and loudest fan for the many sporting events she attended over the years. She hardly ever missed a game. She was proud of all their accomplishments and supported them always.
Dorothy was strong-willed and stubborn, but those traits defined her. They were part of who she was, and her strength undoubtedly helped her deal with life’s challenges. She will be missed every day.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her precious grandson, Elias Trujillo; grandparents, Salomon and Gertrudes Gonzales; mother, Flora Cano; tia, Meme and tio, Pete, Severo Gonzales; mother-in-law, Ignacita Trujillo; father-in-law, Joe L. Trujillo; Susie and Gilbert Ramirez, Ruben and Rosemary Ramirez, Ernie Trujillo, Joey Trujillo and Bobby Trujillo, Mela Gutierrez and Pauline Navarro.
She is survived by her loving husband, just shy of 60 years in October 2023, Ruben Trujillo; son, Ruben (Megan) Trujillo; daughter, Yvette; son, Roman (Jessica); grandchildren, Samantha, Andrew , Gabriel, Gabrielle, Jordan (Julianna), Dominic (La-La), Brooke, Madison and Ruben; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah and Dua; brother-in-law, Salvador Trujillo; sister in-law, Nancy Ortega. Also many cousins who she loved so dearly including Rita Gandara, Cora and Vincent Gonzales, Danny (Elaine) Trujillo, Grace and Tom Gutierrez and Salomon Trujillo, Marilyn and many more family and friends .
Memorial services will be a private ceremony with only close family members and friends present.
