Montoya, Eliseo F.
Age 85, loving husband, father, grandfather (Wello), and servant of the Lord was called home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, August 27, 2020.  He was born on August 1, 1935, in Lemitar, New Mexico.  He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Maria Luisa Montoya; his daughter, Lorencita Lopez (Eddie); his sons, Eliseo Montoya, Jr., (Alice) Raymond Montoya (Yolanda), David Montoya (Sonia); his niece, Felipa Jaramillo (Frank); grandchildren, Amanda Tucker (Aaron), Valerie Lopez, Daniel Montoya (Audrey), Joshua Montoya (Alisha), Leah Ibañez (Gizeh), Cristabel Montoya Alexander (Paul), Raymond Montoya II, and Brandon Montoya; great grandchildren,  Marissa Ortega (Tommy), Aaron Tucker II, Ashlee Bohannan, Estebán Tucker (Vivianna), Katlyn Bohannan, Mikayla Montoya, Ivy Gallegos, Noah Montoya, Vanessa Lopez, and Ollie Montoya; great-great grandchildren, Wesley Ortega, and baby Ortega due in November 2020; sisters, Cecilia Torres, Margaret Zamora, and Timmie Peralta; brother, Joe Montoya; and many nieces and nephews.  Eliseo was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Maria Montoya; brother, Celimaco Montoya; sisters, Mary Vargas, Flora Baca, Molly Cordova, Terry Proctor, and Selfa Gutierrez.  Eliseo retired from APS in 1988 with 29 years of service.  He served as pastor of Primera Iglesia Bautista in Silver City, New Mexico for 22 years.  We are blessed by his devotion to his faith, his servant’s heart, and his example to follow and share Jesus.  He will be dearly missed.  2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
A Viewing will be held on Friday, September 4, 2020 from 9:00 to 9:45 am with a service to follow from 9:45 to 11:00 am at First Bilingual Baptist Church, 812 Fruit Ave. NW. Interment to follow at Terrace Grove Cemetery in Belen.
