Grace ‘Gallegos’ Lopez passed away peacefully on December 4, 2021, to be with the Lord. She was surrounded by her daughter and granddaughter in the comfort of her daughter’s home. She was born on September 14, 1947, lost her battle with Cancer at the age of 74.
Grace was a longtime resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1966 and retired from Ethicon after 26 years of service. She was a loving mother of two daughters, Louise and Lori.
Grace was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana. She was a loving, kindhearted, and witty woman who was caring and thoughtful. She always did for others with no hesitation. She loved to sew, go to casinos, and play card games but most of all she loved God. Family and friends always surrounded her.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Juan and Jennie Gallegos; siblings, Manuelito Gallegos, Peter Gallegos, Bino Gallegos and Ricky Gallegos. Grace is survived by her daughters, Louise Renee Lopez, Lori Elizabeth Martinez and domestic partner, Denise Krawetzki; grandchildren, Cassandra Grace Forbes, Aaron Rey Martinez and fiancée Rebekah Ortiz, Jaron Josh Martinez and fiancée, Lillie Taylor, and Daron Michael Martinez; great-grandchildren, Roma, Oliver, Basil and Autumn; siblings, Margaret Nieto, Toni Bazan, Dolores Martinez, Helen Gallegos, Raymond Gallegos and wife, Julia, Loretta Montoya and husband, Mike, Chano Gallegos and wife, Lupe.  In addition, many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022 at 5:30 pm with a Rosary recited at 6:30 pm at Strong Thorne Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 6th, 2022 at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 309 Stover Ave SW Albuquerque, NM 87102 with inurnment to follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd NE. The reception will follow the funeral on Thursday, January 6th at the Moose Lodge, 2121 Edith NE, Albuquerque NM 87102 from 12-3 pm.
