Age 93, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023. Jessie was born and raised in Punta de Agua, NM. She moved to Albuquerque where she raised her family. She then moved to San Diego, CA where she lived for 45 years. She received her Associates degree and became an interpreter for the deaf. Jessie was very involved with the Catholic Church where she was an interpreter for the deaf. She was also a tutor and mentor for the deaf community. After leaving San Diego she resided with her son and grandchildren in New Mexico. Jessie was a very strong woman with a big heart and a beautiful soul. She was such a very special person to every life she touched.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Erlinda Alderete; son Rufino Martinez and numerous siblings.

She is survived by her daughter in law, Ida Martinez; grandchildren, Gerlene Jaramillo and husband, Anthony, Leslie Trujillo; great grandchildren, Monique Romero and husband, Steven, Shantel Trujillo; great great grandson, Tyler Romero; sister, Ruth Lujan and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 7:30-8:00 am with a Rosary to be recited at 8:00 am and a Mass to be celebrated at 9:00 am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9504 4^th Street NW, Interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sammy Lujan, Matthew Gonzales, Richard Martinez, Manuel Martinez, Floyd Martinez and Anthony Jaramillo.
