Age 36, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016. He was born in Albuquerque, NM on August 25, 1980 to Jimmie Martinez and JoAnn Chavez. He had many joys in life, including sports, superhero comics, movies, action figures and less we forget--food. He was also a champion of the less fortunate. Jimmy graduated from St. Pius High School, attended UNM and went on to work as an air traffic controller. He was President of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association.
He was preceded in death by his mother, JoAnn Chavez and aunt, Peggy Chavez.
Jimmy is survived by father, Jimmie Martinez and step-mother, Anna as well as by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved friends.
A Rosary will be recited Friday, January 6, 2017, 7:00 pm, at Garcia Mortuary~Chapel of Angels, on the corner of 8th and Iron. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:00 am at Garcia Mortuary~Chapel of Angels.
