With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Julian "Julianito" (Candelaria) Romero, 85, on March 26, 2025. Julian was born on July 23, 1939, in Manzano, New Mexico, but lived nearly 70 years in Albuquerque, mostly in the South Valley. He worked in public service for 27 of those years, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Julianito was a beloved husband, father, grandfather of 9 children, 26 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Mary G. Romero, parents Antonio Romero and Maria Luisa Candelaria, daughter Christine Lujan, son Albert Romero, and siblings Jose de Jesus Romero and Lena Brassfield. He is survived by children Josie Molina, George Molina, Roger Molina, Anthony (Letty) Lopez, Raymond (Sheri) Romero, David (Deborah) Romero, and Nick Romero.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday April 2, 2025, at Garcia Mortuary ~ Chapel of Angels, located at 624 8th Street Southwest, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87102 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Followed by a Rosary from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Mass of a Christian Burial will be held the following day, April 3, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 309 Stover Avenue Southwest, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87102 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
Burial to follow mass at Mount Calvary Cemetery at 10:30 am. Mount Calvary is located at 1900 Edith Boulevard Northeast, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87102.
