Castillo, Lupe
Lupe was born Lupita Viola Castillo, in Albuquerque, NM on February 18, 1948 to Fransisco and Frances Castillo. Lupe lost the battle but won the war on July 22, 2015. She was Founder of the “Just say No” program. She started the Drill Team thru the Navajo Elks Lodge. Lupe loved all the children in the Mountain View Community, South Broadway Youth Development, Dennis Chavez Community and Kirtland Community. Lupe’s passion was her kids and her grandkids. As Lupe would say, “you do not choose your family; they are God’s gift to you and you to them. Everyone is family because God is our Father”. She loved raising money to feed the homeless and help those in need. She was a leader and very devoted to helping people. She was recognized and loved by all that knew her and the works she did in these communities.
Lupe is preceded in death by her parents, her lifelong partner, Edwin D. Wiggins, three sisters and one brother.
Lupe is survived by her daughters, Angelina Sena Tucker and Richard Sr., Latasha Moore and Jimmy, and Frances Castillo; sons, David Hernandez and family and Lindo Castillo; grandchildren, Tiara Arrington, Richard Tucker, Jr., Graysen Tucker and Josiah Tucker all of Albuquerque, NM; six sisters and three brothers, also had a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 31, 2015, 9:00 am - 10:00 am at Garcia Mortuary ~ Chapel of Angels , 717 Stover Ave., with a Funeral Services to follow at 10:00 am.
