Lobato, Mercedes (Sadie)
Mercedes (Sadie) Lobato of Jackson, TN age 91 a loving mother, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 5, 2020 in Fort Valley, GA after a fall and failing health problems.
Mercedes was born in Clovis, New Mexico on September 24, 1929. She married Dimas C. Lobato on July 3, 1948. She enjoyed being a homemaker, having a talent for cooking delicious meals for her family and friends. She was always volunteering to cook and share her recipes for social and church events and gathering's. Employed at Clovis High School Cafeteria, she worked there for a year and due to heavy lifting injured her back and retired to pursue her interests in arts and crafts. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, ceramics and painting. Sadie found great peace in reading her Bible and sharing the word of God with everyone. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Clovis New Mexico when she first asked Jesus to become Lord of her life. Through the years she taught Sunday School and worked with the youth groups and young adults. At her time of passing she was a member at Friendship Baptist Church in Warner Robbins, GA. The people she came in contact with found her to be a blessing as she was always praying for the blessing of God over them.
Mercedes was preceded in death by her husband, Dimas C. Lobato on February 20, 1989; her mother, Carmen Gentry on April 20, 1986; her brother, Felix Garcia on April 24, 1988; half brother, Joe P. Gentry on July 24, 2003 and her sister Ramona Gonzales on June 2, 2006.
She is survived by her half brother, Daniel Gentry of Los Angles, CA; daughter, Wanda J. Fox of Sarasota, FL, son, Michael Lobato and wife, Kathy of Albuquerque, NM, daughter, Kathy L. Peck of Jackson, TN, son, Christopher Lobato and wife, Connie of Crossville, TN, daughter, Debra L. Taylor of Jackson, TN, daughter, Rachel L. James of Rio Rancho, NM; grandchildren, Dewey C. Fox III and wife, Angie of Sarasota, FL, Jennifer F. Brooks of Sarasota, FL, Micah L. Merriman and husband, Carlos of Albuquerque, NM, Kimberly Kennedy and husband, Dave of Warner Robins, GA, Lyndy Wackler and husband, Mark of Soldotna, AK, Christopher Lobato of Crossville, TN, Kelsey Johnson and husband, CJ of Aldie, VA, Johnathan R. Taylor and wife, Katie of Henderson, TN and Brian J. Taylor and wife, Amber of Jackson, TN; 16 great grandchildren, Madelyn Fox, Serina Fox, Layla Fox, Michelle Saiz, Avery Merriman, Weston Taylor, Kyson Taylor, Canton Taylor, Stockton Taylor, Remi Mann, Liam James, Jory James, Michael D. Lobato, Elijah Wackler, Ty Wackler, Mia Wackler.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 from 9:30-10:00 am with a prayer service to follow at 10:00 am COVID -19 restrictions will apply, only five people allowed in the chapel at a time, masks must be worn to attend service and social distancing will be enforced. Interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45 pm. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Friendship Baptist Church, 1322 Feagin Mill Rd. Warner Robins, GA 31088.
