MIchelle Frances Villegas

Michelle Villegas, age 58, passed away on June 19, 2024, in Albuquerque, NM.

She was a beloved wife, best mom, loving sister, daughter, doting aunt, and cousin. She had a big heart with so much love to give. She is survived by her husband, Richard Villegas and her son Nico Villegas. She is also survived by her mother Delia Addy, sister Lisa Funaro, brother Mike Sedillo and many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and in-laws that all loved her dearly.

Michelle was born to Mike and Delia Sedillo on July 13, 1965, and was raised in Albuquerque, NM. Michelle graduated from UNM with a double bachelor’s degree in English and Philosophy.

Michelle was a devout Christian and loved sharing the beauty of God with those around her. She would send her family and friends nightly verses to share words of comfort and encouragement. She would also volunteer to share the word of God with children at the Good News club. Michelle was dedicated to spreading happiness to those around her.

Michelle was very talented artistically as a musician, writer, painter and baker. As a musician she played the trumpet, keyboard, bass and loved to sing and harmonize with her sister. She also loved working on songs with her husband and playing in bands with her family.

As a writer, she was very accomplished and had her work published while she was still in college. As a painter and crafts artisan, she loved creating memories with her nieces and nephews and passing on her crafting skills.

As a baker, Michelle was always making sweet treats for everyone around her. Her creativity was expressed in this area through the unique and incredible birthday cakes she made for her family members.

Michelle’s talents extended into cultivating her garden. She was a lover of all plants and flowers and created an oasis in her backyard. If anyone needed help with gardening, she was the go-to resource.

Michelle had an insatiable love for learning. She particularly loved physics and had recently been learning Japanese.

Our hearts hurt without you, but we know you are resting and are at peace in the Glory of God. Your memory will stay alive in the many hearts of those who knew and loved you.

In honor of Michelle’s memory, the family requests that you take a moment every day to share kindness to those around you.
