Age 87, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015. She was born in Albuquerque, NM on May 13, 1928, to Julian and Modesta Vargas.
Nettie was a member of San Felipe Catholic Church and also the Blue Army. Nettie is survived by her children, Barbara Martinez and husband, Leonard, Josie Nicasio and husband Candido, Tony Abeyta and wife, Elsa, Tommy Abeyta and wife, Debbie; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; sisters, Isabelle Barreras, Frances Abeyta, Consie Botts; brothers, Manuel Vargas, Johnny Vargas and Nick Vargas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Eustacio Martinez; children, Albert, Fernando, Sylvia, Teresa and four grandchildren.
A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Garcia Mortuary~Chapel of Angels, 717 Stover Ave. SW. A Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at San Jose de Duranes Mission, 2110 Los Luceros Rd. NW, with Father Dennis Garcia officating.
