Age 87, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021. He was born in Cuba, on April 4, 1934. "El Padrino" Odelman was a loving father, godfather to his godchildren and a loving grandfather. He was a poet, advisor, spiritual guider and devout Babalawo. He started his religion temple in Albuquerque in 2001 and he proudly served his created legacy. He was a happy and kind man.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Catalino Cardenas and Isolina Labarreras and siblings.
Odelman is survived by his children, Lucia Cardenas, Jose Antonio Cardenas, Ondalis Cardenas, Santiago Cardenas, Caridad Cardenas, David Cardenas, Guillermo Cardenas, Diana Cardenas, Ivan Cardenas and grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Strong Thorne Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 1, 2021at 9:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW.
