Raymond Diego Armijo

In loving memory of Raymond Diego Armijo, who peacefully passed away on November 21, 2023, in Albuquerque. Born and raised in his beloved hometown on February 10, 1952, to Jesus Estrada Armijo and Antonia P. Armijo, Ray was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.

Ray's love story with Mela began in 1971 and culminated in marriage in Albuquerque, NM. Proud of his roots in the South Valley Neighborhood of Barelas, Ray was a beacon of hard work and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on his family.

Raymond is survived by the love of his life Mela; his children Rayann Armijo, Tina Maya, Monica Gallegos (Fiancé David), and Ricky (Wife Sylvia); his grandchildren Eddie Fraire, Steven Armijo, Timothy Reyes, Angelo Armijo, Christina Maya, Thomas Reyes, Eddie Gallegos (Nikole), Diego Armijo, Melanie Gonzales (Fiancé Paul), Matthew Armijo, Jade Zamora (Josiah); his great-grandchildren Armani, Ivy, Riley, Aleah Brooklyn Izaiah, and Remi; his sisters Joann (Husband Nick) and Irene (Husband Bernie); as well as many nieces and nephews.

Raymond was preceded in death by his father Jesus; mother Antonia; brothers Jesse, Michael, Lorenzo, Ricky, and Bobby; sisters Candy, and Lucille.

Ray's enduring spirit and tireless work ethic will be cherished by all who knew him. His love for his family and community knew no bounds. He will forever be remembered for his dedication to his loved ones.

We would like to offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to the amazing staff of UNM Hospital including the TICU and heart specialists as well as the heart specialist from Lovelace, who gave such incredible care to Raymond. Your compassion and dedication made a difference in his life and will always be remembered.

Services will be held for Raymond on Friday, December 1st at Sacred Heart Church located at 309 Stover Ave SW in Albuquerque, NM. The visitation will begin at 8:00 AM, Rosary at 8:30 AM,  followed by the service at 9:00 AM. The interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery located on 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102 . A reception will follow the services at Sacred Heart Church.

Pallbearers for the service will be Angelo Armijo, Chris Carbajal, Diego Armijo, Eddie Gallegos Jr., Eddie Gallegos III, and Matthew Armijo. Honorary pallbearers include David Gonzales, Eddie Fraire, Joe Armijo, Kevin L’Esperance, Paul Coy, Ricky Gonzales, Steven Armijo, Thomas Reyes, and Timothy Reyes.

Raymond Diego Armijo's legacy will live on through the memories shared with family and friends. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love he so generously shared with his family and community.
