Castillo, Richard J

Age 44, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018. He was born in Tulsa, OK on September 28, 1973. Richard enjoyed music, classic cars, European imports, motorcycles, socializing, dancing, movies and fishing. Richard loved his children, Sirach and Savannah more than life, to him they were life. Richard had a natural vest for humanity he volunteered at St. Francis Xavier Church on a regular basis and he loved to make people laugh and enjoy the moment. His heart was big and his sensitivity and compassion were strong. Although Richard's life was somewhat short, it was memorable and he did things his way. As a young man Richard was ambitious. He worked for the City of Albuquerque, the county and the US Post office. Later in life he went back to welding, the trade he enjoyed. For those who were fortunate enough to have known Richard, think about his beautiful smile and his laugh. On a bad day, he would want all of us to trust in the Lord and smile. Richard would never say goodbye to any of us, he would say "Can I tell you something?" " See you later then."

He was preceded in death by his father, R. Smith Sr.

Richard is survived by his children, Sirach E. Lujan, Savannah E. Lujan of Albuquerque, NM; ex-wife, Aurora J. Lujan of Albuqueruqe, NM ; siblings, LJ Manzanarez of CO, Nicholas Manzanarez of Seattle, WA, Marissa Villa of Albuquerque, NM, Daniel Villa of CO, Les Manzanarez of Seattle, WA, Nick Manzanarez of WY and his partner, Denise Contreras of Albuquerque, NM.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2018, 8:30 - 9:20 am at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 9:20 and a Eulogy at 9:40. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 and an Interment to follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery, Albuquerque. Pallbearers will be Daniel Villa, Christopher Anderson, Patrick Marquez, Henry Elizondo, Joseph Lujan and Victor Martinez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Matthew McCoy, Rick Lucero, Orlando Castillo and Xavier Lucero. The Castillo and Lujan family would like to thank everyone for the love and support they gave Richard throughout his life and the grace to his journey home.
