Richard Cordova Fortune, age 77, beloved and devoted father, grandfather, and brother was called home to be with Jehovah on February 20, 2016. Richard was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on October 7, 1938, son of Magdalena Cordova and Michael J. Fortune and stepson of Lorenzo D. Duran. Richard was a retired director of Equal Employment Opportunity for the USDA Forest Service and a 12 year veteran realtor with the Ingles Company of New Mexico. He was also a veteran of the Vietnam War while serving at Osan Air Force Base, South Korea. He served as a Congressional staff member for Congressman Bill Richardson while on loan from the USDA Forest Service headquarters office. He is survived by his partner Linda McDonald; son Richard J. Fortune and wife, Patti; daughters Felicia D. Fortune-Deschenes and husband, Jim, JoEllen M. Fortune-Hartke and husband, Jan; brother James Lawrence Duran and wife, Rose; granddaughters Ashley M. Dominguez and Paige N. Dominguez; grandsons Dean Cordova Hartke and Zachary B. Hartke; nephew Christopher Duran; great-granddaughter Arya B. Aguinaga, plus friends and family who will miss him very much.
