Age 90, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018. She was born in San Pedro, NM on September 9, 1927. Sarah was a strong independent woman. She had a great sense of humor. She never met a stranger, she would help anyone. She enjoyed singing, gardening, traveling, dancing, cooking and going to the casinos. She was one of the first women to have danced with the Matachines.She sang in the choir at SAn Ignacio and San Felipe where she was also a parishioner. She was known as Grandma Sarah to all generations of kids in her neighborhood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alejandro Martinez; sons, Stevie and Robert Martinez; sisters, Adelaida Benavidez and Eduvijen Espinoza.

Sarah is survived by her sister, Senaida Serrano; children, Maria Elena Rivera (Patrick), Raymond Mon Martinez, Alex Martinez; five grandchildren, Alex Martinez, Litha Vallejos, Celina Rivera (Jose), Lee Martinez (Sujin) and Jessi Martinez (Will) and eight great grandchildren, Aurora, Andrew, Samuel, Leala, Lyla, Mario, Eden and Caleb.

A Rosary recited on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 7:00 pm at San Felipe de Neri Church, 2005 North Plaza NW. A Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 10:00 am at San Felipe de Neri Church.
