Sylvia Del Valle

Sylvia Del Valle was born in Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico on April 3, 1951. She entered Heaven’s gates on Friday, January 11, 2019.

Sylvia was a long time resident of Albuquerque, NM where she lived since leaving her childhood home at the age of 14. Sylvia held two long term employments, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She worked at Duke City Lumber for 15 years where she was quickly promoted and even worked in a position that had only been held by men. Sylvia then went to work for the Albuquerque Journal as a newspaper carrier, which she retired from in 2013 after 19 years of delivering the newspaper faithfully every day of the year.

Sylvia had a heart of gold. Her home was always welcomed to family and friends whenever they needed help. She was loved by many for her ability make people laugh and she would light up any room. She was a wonderful cook and she always enjoyed watching a good movie. Sylvia took pride in her appearance and was a role model to all she came in contact.

Sylvia will be lovingly missed by her husband of 36 years, Jorge Del Valle; son, Marco A. Holguin (Amanda Gonzales) of New Mexico; daughter, Sylvia Wynn of Arkansas; six grandchildren, Katrina, Nadia, Adrian, Andrew, Alicia, and Marco; four brothers, Gregorio, Jesus Manuel, Victor and Ramon; three sisters, Maria Isabel, Martha and Angelica. Sylvia will also be forever remembered by her numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.

Sylvia was predeceased by her parents, Gregorio Villalobos & Senorina Patiño; her brother Victor Villalobos; her sisters Carmen Elena Villalobos and Senorina Herrera; and her oldest son, Gilberto Holguin.

A Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 10:00 am at San Martin de Porres located at 8301 Camino San Martin S.W., Albuquerque, New Mexico 87121.
