Lopez, Theresa Flores
Age 71, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021. She left us unexpectedly but we know she is at the gates of heaven where her late husband, Esteven Lopez, was waiting for her. Theresa Flores Lopez was raised in Gallup, New Mexico. She was one of ten children. Her best friend's growing up were Esperanza Fuentes and Nancy Benitez. The trio would travel together to go to dances, Esperanza has remained a lifelong friend throughout the years. Theresa Flores Lopez met Estevan Lopez in 1974 and they started a family soon after. Theresa was blessed with four children, Stephanie Lopez, Samuel Lopez, Rachael Lopez, Rebecca Lopez and eight grandchildren, Tiff and wife, Kirsten Lopez, Marquise, Samuel Jr., Angel, Elijah, Nevaeh, Jayden and Tristan Lopez. She cherished all her grandchildren and was always over protective keeping a close eye on them. Theresa stopped working to become a full time (Nana) grandmother. She would be there for her grandkids when they were sick, sad or needed a break away from home. Theresa was a hard working independent woman, who had an unbreakable determination. When she put her mind to something she accomplished it. She taught all of her children and grandchildren to work hard for what you want in life and never settle for less. Theresa was a fearless soul, her strength lives in us and she will be greatly missed. When she wasn't taking charge of a situation, she would let loose and enjoy listening to her all time favorite, Elvis Presley. She would dance when she could and pass time by going to bingo and yard sales. Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Estevan Lopez; parents Pablo Flores and Maria Jaramillo; siblings, Freddie Flores, Eloisa Flores, Paul Flores Jr., Minnie Pino and Eddie Flores.
She is survived by all her children, grandchildren, as well as her siblings, Frankie Flores, Tommy Flores, Lucy Lopez and Antonio Jaramillo.
This is not where it ends we will never be lonely because of all the memories we have and lessons taught to guide us in life. As Elvis sang "you will always be on my mind", and in out hearts.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Garcia Mortuary ~ Chapel of Angels, 624 8th Street SW, with a prayer service at 3:00 pm.
