Pino, Frances Ida
Frances I. Pino was from Acoma Pueblo. She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on June 29, 1932. Frances passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 19, 2021. Frances was preceded in passing by her mother, Anita Garcia; her father, Porfelio Garcia; husband, Raphael Pino; her daughter, Geraldine Pino and brothers, Ben and George Valley. She is survived by her brother, Frank Cerno Sr. and wife, Dorothy; son, Manuel Pino; her daughter, Ernestine Cortez and husband, Steven; grandchildren, Stephanie Cortez, Tanya Galarza and husband, Nick, Carlos Pino, and Stephen Cortez; great grandchildren, Francisco Purley, Angel Saavedra, Elysia Knight, Joseph Saavedra, Adrian Galarza, Elias Galarza and Serenity Cortez; her cousin, Delores Ohem and numerous nieces and nephews and relatives from Acoma Pueblo. Frances worked for the Albuquerque Public Schools for 20 years in the cafeteria. Frances enjoyed cooking, sewing, morning walks, visiting with family and friends, and attending Pueblo feast days. Frances was fluent in three languages, her native Kersan, Spanish and English. The family would like to acknowledge Legacy home health care and Presbyterian 3rd floor nursing staff for their special care and services. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A Visitation will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021 from 6:00-7:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Strong Thorne Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. A Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 9:00 am at St. Therese, 3424 4th street NW. Interment will be on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 10:30 am at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
